"Dewey: the Small Town Library Cat who touched the World" by Vicki Myron with Brett Witter

The term “library cat” was a foreign term to me prior to noticing the cover to this wonderful book.  Naturally, I was intrigued; but as the story offered nothing flashy to illicit immediate excitement (it is the story of a cat, after all), I failed to pursue reading it for myself.  When the opportunity to do so presented itself, I became enthralled at how truly inspiring a story this is.  Not only does Dewey charm the library staff, he warms over the townsfolk with his infectious personality and innate ability to know when a patron needs his friendship.  Somehow, this simple cat, knew his job was to become the public face of the library; and he did that by not only welcoming the people of Spencer Iowa everyday, but also by conquering the world.  If you are a parent looking for an ideal book to read to your child, you have found it with Dewey.”
