"Bella" by Lisa Sampson

I walked into this book knowing nothing beyond the accolades received by the movie: ‘a good movie’,  ‘an inspiring story’.  All I had heard was how worthwhile it was to see.  Thus, I took the challenge, read the book, and was sincerely touched by the story of two people, Jose and Nina, and their simple journey through New York one typical day.

If one is more inclined towards stories where great dramas unfold of car chases on the edge of a mountain, adulterous affairs on the cusp of being discovered, death facing each character at the turn of every page, this book probably won’t satisfy.  This is a story about life.  It is simple; and it is beautiful.  It is ‘Bella’.
